In Kansas, Some May Only Vote for “Federal” Candidates

vote91814Kansas – The federal lawsuit currently pending over Kansas’s 2013 voter identification law has some voters able to vote only for federal candidates on the ballot.

  • This partial voting privilege applies to approximately 50,000 voters who registered at local motor vehicle offices but had their registration cancelled for failure to provide proof of citizenship.
  • A federal appeals court gave a temporary order allowing this group to vote in federal elections pending the outcome of the litigation;
