Richmond, VA: Dr. Bernard Grofman, an economics and political science professor at the University of California, Irvine has been selected by a federal district court panel in Virginia as the expert line drawer for the states’ embattled congressional map.
Lawmakers failed to redraw the map after a federal panel found it impermissibly diluted the votes of minority voters. The panel also decided in favor posting proposed alternative maps online for the public to see, a move that had been opposed to by some parties in the case.
